Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Playing With Plastic, Toekomsrus', Beaufort West, 2007 by Mikhael Subotzky was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,178.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mikhael Subotzky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-portrait (with the help of optometrist) R and L from Retinal Shift in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,019.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Playing With Plastic, Toekomsrus', Beaufort West, 2007 von Mikhael Subotzky kam im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.178,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mikhael Subotzky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-portrait (with the help of optometrist) R and L from Retinal Shift im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.019,16).
