In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Pictures, which included the work The Baptism of Christ by Michele Rocca. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,746.41), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michele Rocca have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rinaldo and Armida in May 2003 with an auction result of EUR 66,920.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Baptism of Christ von Michele Rocca zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.746,41) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michele Rocca auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rinaldo and Armida im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 66.920,00.
