Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The brigantine James Stonard of Ulveston entering Naples, 20th March 1865 by Michele Funno was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,459.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michele Funno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Zugeschrieben - Blankeneser Schoner "Johannes" vor Neapel mit Vesuv, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 2,975.00.
