Naval superintendent Carl Emil Peterson (1846-1920). Carl Emil Peterson was head of the commissariat administration at the naval station in Karlskrona, Sweden. He participated in the corvette Balder's expedition to the West Indies in 1885-86 where several islands were visited, including Trinidad. On this occasion he bought this watercolour, probably directly from the artist.Thence by descent in the family.

It achieved a price of SEK 110,000.00 (€ 9,337.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michel Jean Cazabon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint-Pierre, Martinique in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).

Die Arbeit Bamboo Arch, Trinidad. von Michel Jean Cazabon kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von SEK 110.000,00 (€ 9.337,91) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michel Jean Cazabon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint-Pierre, Martinique im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 137.741,48).
