Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,441.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michel-François Préault - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Traders at Pera, on the Bosphorus, which sold at auction in October 2010 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,044.44).
