Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Christies in New York held the auction Insider Art: Christie’s New York Staff Show, which included the work Phreatic by Michael Walsh. The price achieved of USD 252.00 (€ 250.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Walsh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Liminal, which sold at auction in August this year for USD 756.00 (€ 697.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Insider Art: Christie’s New York Staff Show durch, in der auch die Arbeit Phreatic von Michael Walsh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 252,00 (€ 250,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Walsh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Liminal beobachtet, die im August diesen Jahres für USD 756,00 (€ 697,48) versteigert wurde.
