This work without title by Michael van Ofen was sold in the Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in February 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,217.32), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael van Ofen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Der Künstler in seinem Atelier. in November last year with an auction result of EUR 17,850.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Michael van Ofen wurde im Februar 2021 in der Auktion Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.217,32) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael van Ofen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Der Künstler in seinem Atelier. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.850,00.
