Sold at the upper estimate price
In August 2005 Christies in London held the auction 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work 1984 Orwell by Michael Sandle. The auction ended at the price of GBP 600.00 (€ 876.50), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Sandle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Drummer, which sold at auction in December 2002 for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,705.53).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im August 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1984 Orwell von Michael Sandle zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 876,50) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Sandle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Drummer beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.705,53) versteigert wurde.
