Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Production e-moll (2) by Michael Sailstorfer was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Sailstorfer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zeit ist keine Autobahn - Minneapolis in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,335.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Production e-moll (2) von Michael Sailstorfer im November 2018 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Sailstorfer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zeit ist keine Autobahn - Minneapolis im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.680,00 (€ 25.335,58).
