In July 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Front of House/Back of House, which included the work Shark Untitled (#403) by Michael Myers. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,268.39), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Myers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mirrored Shark Lines, which sold at auction in August 2018 for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,587.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Front of House/Back of House durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shark Untitled (#403) von Michael Myers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.268,39) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Myers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mirrored Shark Lines beobachtet, die im August 2018 für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.587,10) versteigert wurde.
