The work Head of Girl, 1973-76 by Michael Kmit was worth AUD 3,936.00 (€ 3,271.82) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of AUD 600.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michael Kmit; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Totem, 1956 sold at auction in September this year with the realized price of AUD 9,225.00 (€ 5,622.68).

Die Arbeit Head of Girl, 1973-76 von Michael Kmit war einem Käufer im April 2021 AUD 3.936,00 (€ 3.271,82) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 600,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michael Kmit; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Totem, 1956 im September diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 9.225,00 (€ 5.622,68).
