In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Emptiness III by Michael Kenny. The auction ended at the price of GBP 600.00 (€ 884.82), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Kenny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Construction, which sold at auction in May 2020 for GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,122.53).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Emptiness III von Michael Kenny zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 884,82) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Kenny mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Construction beobachtet, die im Mai 2020 für GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.122,53) versteigert wurde.
