Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Chilean Flamingo by Michael Jackson was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in August 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,945.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Jackson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peacock, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,145.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Chilean Flamingo von Michael Jackson wurde im August 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.314,50 (€ 1.945,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Jackson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peacock beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.145,57) versteigert wurde.
