Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Meno Mühlig achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Night Fishing sold for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,586.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Meno Mühlig; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Die Gefangennahme des Götz von Berlichingen sold at auction in November 2012 with the realized price of EUR 1,677.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Meno Mühlig erzielte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Night Fishing für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.586,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 700,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Meno Mühlig; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Die Gefangennahme des Götz von Berlichingen im November 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 1.677,00.
