Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Albrecht Dürer by Melchior Lorck was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in New York in January 2019. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,273.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Melchior Lorck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Albrecht Dürer, which sold at auction in December 2015 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,882.08).
