Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Showdown by Mehl Lawson was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 219.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mehl Lawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Range Doctor in January this year with an auction result of USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,583.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Showdown von Mehl Lawson im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 219,70) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mehl Lawson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Range Doctor im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.583,35).
