Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Rhythmic Forms by Max Dupain. It changed hands for a price of AUD 7,637.50 (€ 4,307.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Max Dupain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunbaker, 1937 in August 2021 with an auction result of AUD 49,200.00 (€ 41,694.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rhythmic Forms von Max Dupain zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 7.637,50 (€ 4.307,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Max Dupain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunbaker, 1937 im August 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 49.200,00 (€ 41.694,92).
