Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian sunbaker by Max Dupain was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,405.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Max Dupain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunbaker, 1937 in August 2021 with an auction result of AUD 49,200.00 (€ 41,694.92).
