This artwork by Max Rabes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2009. In the 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works auction, the work German Fasching (Carnival) sold for GBP 14,375.00 (€ 15,731.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Max Rabes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storytime, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 66,000.00 (€ 55,022.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Max Rabes erzielte im November 2009 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works wurde die Arbeit German Fasching (Carnival) für GBP 14.375,00 (€ 15.731,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Max Rabes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Storytime beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 66.000,00 (€ 55.022,93) versteigert wurde.
