Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Summer blooms in brass and copper ewers by a grape vine; and Summer blooms and grapes in a basket by peaches, cherries, a pumpkin, a brass ewer and a vine on a ledge by Max Carlier. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,931.00 (€ 9,809.27), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Max Carlier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Flowers, Fruits, Vegetables and a Copper Jug, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 45,600.00 (€ 38,015.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summer blooms in brass and copper ewers by a grape vine; and Summer blooms and grapes in a basket by peaches, cherries, a pumpkin, a brass ewer and a vine on a ledge von Max Carlier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.931,00 (€ 9.809,27) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Max Carlier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life with Flowers, Fruits, Vegetables and a Copper Jug beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 45.600,00 (€ 38.015,84) versteigert wurde.
