Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a girl in profile by Maurice van Essche for GBP 765.00 (€ 854.00). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice van Essche achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Beach in May 2017 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,638.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a girl in profile von Maurice van Essche für GBP 765,00 (€ 854,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online sale bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice van Essche erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Beach im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.638,92).
