Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Maurice Sterne could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Study For Cain; And Two Companion Drawings changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 599.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maurice Sterne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Balinese women, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,420.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maurice Sterne konnte im Dezember 2007 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The House Sale wechselte die Arbeit Study For Cain; And Two Companion Drawings für USD 875,00 (€ 599,19) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Maurice Sterne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four Balinese women beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.420,35) versteigert wurde.
