Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work The 1900 World'S Fair Exhibition On The Champ De Mars by Maurice Leloir for USD 750.00 (€ 573.44). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Leloir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French The Boating Party in October 2009 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 33,886.82).
