Despite a disappointment, a good price for Maurice Greiffenhagen
When the work The Pickford Wallers by Maurice Greiffenhagen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,550.19). Despite this disappointing result, The Pickford Wallers is the most expensive artwork by Maurice Greiffenhagen that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Maurice Greiffenhagen
Als die Arbeit The Pickford Wallers von Maurice Greiffenhagen im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.550,19) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist The Pickford Wallers das teuerste Kunstwerk von Maurice Greiffenhagen, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
