In February 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Thicket by Maurice Cockrill. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,791.04), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Cockrill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Generation - Blue Space, Ii, (Marienbad.) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thicket von Maurice Cockrill zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.791,04) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Cockrill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Generation - Blue Space, Ii, (Marienbad.) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.598,03).
