This artwork by Maurice Cockrill achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2013. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Garden Opening sold for GBP 5,500.00 (€ 6,284.71) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maurice Cockrill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Generation - Blue Space, Ii, (Marienbad.), which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maurice Cockrill erzielte im Juli 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Garden Opening für GBP 5.500,00 (€ 6.284,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Maurice Cockrill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Generation - Blue Space, Ii, (Marienbad.) beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.598,03) versteigert wurde.
