Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the riverbank by Maurice Chabas was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,120.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Chabas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Néméa, 1894 in September 2017 with an auction result of EUR 27,300.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the riverbank von Maurice Chabas kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.120,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Chabas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Néméa, 1894 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.300,00.
