Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A Riverside Tryst by Maurice Chabas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 601.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Chabas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Néméa, 1894 in September 2017 with an auction result of EUR 27,300.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Riverside Tryst von Maurice Chabas zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 601,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Chabas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Néméa, 1894 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.300,00.
