Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Maud Hall Neale could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Portrait of Hester Wade, seated three-quarter-length, in a pale blue dress with flowers at her corsage changed hands for GBP 658.00 (€ 1,030.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Maud Hall Neale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roselie and Leslie Lever-Tilletson in March 2011 with an auction result of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,243.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maud Hall Neale konnte im Mai 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of Hester Wade, seated three-quarter-length, in a pale blue dress with flowers at her corsage für GBP 658,00 (€ 1.030,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maud Hall Neale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roselie and Leslie Lever-Tilletson im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.243,11).
