Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Mocking Of Christ by Matthias Stomer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 341,000.00 (€ 483,423.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Matthias Stomer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ Disputing With The Doctors in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,650,000.00 (€ 2,446,454.95).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Mocking Of Christ von Matthias Stomer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 341.000,00 (€ 483.423,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthias Stomer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Christ Disputing With The Doctors im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.650.000,00 (€ 2.446.454,95).
