Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Judgement Of Solomon by Matthias Stomer was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 428,750.00 (€ 478,419.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Matthias Stomer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ Disputing With The Doctors in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,650,000.00 (€ 2,446,454.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Judgement Of Solomon von Matthias Stomer kam im Juli 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 428.750,00 (€ 478.419,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthias Stomer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Christ Disputing With The Doctors im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.650.000,00 (€ 2.446.454,95).
