Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Playing Soldiers by Matthias Robinson. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,376.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Matthias Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Charge Of The Light Brigade in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 9,560.00 (€ 13,752.01).
