A top price for Matthias Meyer
When the work Seerosen 5 by Matthias Meyer was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 56,250.00 (€ 44,543.87). This high result makes Seerosen 5 the most expensive artwork by Matthias Meyer that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Seerosen 5 von Matthias Meyer im September 2014 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 12.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 56.250,00 (€ 44.543,87) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Seerosen 5 zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Matthias Meyer, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
