Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Untitled' by Matthew Porter was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,554.95). Other works by Matthew Porter have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October last year by the work Valley View at USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,220.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Untitled' von Matthew Porter im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.250,00 (€ 9.554,95) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Matthew Porter wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres die Arbeit Valley View mit USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.220,46).
