Admittedly, works by Matthäus Terwesten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegory of Peace in May 2007 with an auction result of EUR 20,400.00.

Die Arbeit A Bacchanal of putti and infant fauns, with Cupid shooting an arrow at a young girl von Matthäus Terwesten wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.208,36) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthäus Terwesten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegory of Peace im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.400,00.
