Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Mensaje by Mathias Goeritz. It changed hands for a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 73,541.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mathias Goeritz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mensaje in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 466,000.00 (€ 441,204.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mensaje von Mathias Goeritz zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 73.541,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mathias Goeritz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mensaje im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 466.000,00 (€ 441.204,32).
