Auction result misses estimated price range

In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Private James P. Bonnet and Unidentified Members of the 22nd New York State Militia in their Tent Camp, Near Harper's Ferry, Virginia, 1862 by Mathew Brady for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,082.06). This price was achieved in the auction Photography of the Civil War: Property from The Metropolitan Museum of Art at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mathew Brady achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work John C. Calhoun in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 338,500.00 (€ 228,392.15).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Private James P. Bonnet and Unidentified Members of the 22nd New York State Militia in their Tent Camp, Near Harper's Ferry, Virginia, 1862 von Mathew Brady für USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.082,06) erwerben.
