A top price for The Master of the 1540s - as previously expected
In October 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a bearded man, half-length, in a black coat, holding gloves by The Master of the 1540s. The price achieved of USD 181,000.00 (€ 125,103.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of a bearded man, half-length, in a black coat, holding gloves is the most expensive artwork by The Master of the 1540s that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a bearded man, half-length, in a black coat, holding gloves von The Master of the 1540s zur Versteigerung kam.
