Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Walking Figure 5 3/4 x 4 in. (14.6 x 10.2 cm) framed 12 1/4 x 10 3/4 x 3/4 in. by Maryan was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,760.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maryan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Periode Americaine - 1975 in December 2020 with an auction result of EUR 46,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Walking Figure 5 3/4 x 4 in. (14.6 x 10.2 cm) framed 12 1/4 x 10 3/4 x 3/4 in. von Maryan im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.760,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maryan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Periode Americaine - 1975 im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 46.800,00.
