Including preliminary studies for 'Night and Day' and life drawings from her time at Glasgow School of Art between 1914-1920. Also includes one unframed study by Maurice Greiffenhagen RA (1862–1931)

In October this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work A portfolio belonging to May Reid by Mary Reid. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,560.00 (€ 2,939.59), 71% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mary Reid have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Night and Day (1920) in October this year with an auction result of GBP 15,360.00 (€ 17,637.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A portfolio belonging to May Reid von Mary Reid zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.560,00 (€ 2.939,59) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Reid auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Night and Day (1920) im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.360,00 (€ 17.637,55).
