Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Picture Book by Mary Louise Fairchild Low. The price achieved of USD 18,000.00 (€ 14,828.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Louise Fairchild Low have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Berthe Hélène MacMonnies in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 186,700.00 (€ 137,908.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Picture Book von Mary Louise Fairchild Low zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 14.828,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Louise Fairchild Low auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Berthe Hélène MacMonnies im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 186.700,00 (€ 137.908,11).
