Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work A portrait of a lady in a white dress with fresh cut roses by Mary Lemon Waller for USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,940.73). This price was achieved in the auction European Fine Living at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Lemon Waller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Robert Berks Timmis, half-length, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 12,602.33).

Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A portrait of a lady in a white dress with fresh cut roses von Mary Lemon Waller für USD 6.375,00 (€ 5.940,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion European Fine Living bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Lemon Waller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Robert Berks Timmis, half-length beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 12.602,33) versteigert wurde.
