Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mary Bradish Titcomb could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Josephine Titcomb Bailey, The Artist'S Niece changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,320.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Bradish Titcomb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Town Across the Water in May last year with an auction result of USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,528.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mary Bradish Titcomb konnte im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Josephine Titcomb Bailey, The Artist'S Niece für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.320,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Bradish Titcomb auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Town Across the Water im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 30.528,38).
