The work Portrait of Zachary Craddock (1633-1695), Provost of Eton (1681-1695), bust-length, in academic robes, in a sculpted cartouche by Mary Beale was sold in the Old Masters & British Paintings auction at Christies in London in May 2012. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,344.67), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mary Beale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of The Artist'S Son, Bartholomew Beale in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 102,931.27).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Zachary Craddock (1633-1695), Provost of Eton (1681-1695), bust-length, in academic robes, in a sculpted cartouche von Mary Beale wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.344,67) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mary Beale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of The Artist'S Son, Bartholomew Beale im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 102.931,27).
