Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Marwa Adel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2012. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II auction, the work Hope sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,270.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marwa Adel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2011 with the realized price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,755.00).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marwa Adel erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II wurde die Arbeit Hope für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.270,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Marwa Adel; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.755,00).
