Auction result well in line with expectations

In March 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Meiji era (1868-1912) by Maruyama Banka. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,085.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Maruyama Banka have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blossoming Wisteria by Steps to a Shrine Gate in March last year with an auction result of USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,321.55).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im März 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Meiji era (1868-1912) von Maruyama Banka zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.085,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maruyama Banka auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blossoming Wisteria by Steps to a Shrine Gate im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.321,55).
