Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work A man smoking a pipe in a courtyard in Constantinople by Martinus Rørbye for DKK 16,000.00 (€ 2,147.17). This price was achieved in the auction Paintings & drawings at Bruun Rasmussen and was even below the estimate range of DKK 20,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martinus Rørbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Et stort skib under kalfatring ved Frederikshavn” in March this year with an auction result of DKK 1,200,000.00 (€ 161,037.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A man smoking a pipe in a courtyard in Constantinople von Martinus Rørbye für DKK 16.000,00 (€ 2.147,17) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings & drawings bei Bruun Rasmussen erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von DKK 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martinus Rørbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Et stort skib under kalfatring ved Frederikshavn” im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 1.200.000,00 (€ 161.037,53).
