Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View through the old lime kiln in Copenhagen with Trekroner in the background by Martinus Rørbye was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 50,000.00 (€ 6,703.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martinus Rørbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Et stort skib under kalfatring ved Frederikshavn” in March this year with an auction result of DKK 1,200,000.00 (€ 161,037.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View through the old lime kiln in Copenhagen with Trekroner in the background von Martinus Rørbye im September diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 50.000,00 (€ 6.703,51) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martinus Rørbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Et stort skib under kalfatring ved Frederikshavn” im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 1.200.000,00 (€ 161.037,53).
