Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX, which included the work Portrait of a lady, half-length, wearing a black dress with lace chemise and bonnet, holding a fan by Martinus de la Court. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 910.00 – 1,400.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 940.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martinus de la Court achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a nobleman, of the Asch van Wijck family, three-quarter-length, in a golden 'Japansche rock' and wig, seated by a balustrade, a mansion in the distance; and Portrait of an elegant lady, of the Asch van Wijck family, three-quarter-length, in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 10,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, half-length, wearing a black dress with lace chemise and bonnet, holding a fan von Martinus de la Court zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a nobleman, of the Asch van Wijck family, three-quarter-length, in a golden 'Japansche rock' and wig, seated by a balustrade, a mansion in the distance; and Portrait of an elegant lady, of the Asch van Wijck family, three-quarter-length, im April 2007 mi
