In November 2019 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Paintings Drawings Sculptures 1300-1900, which included the work Portrait Of Joannes Josephus Comes Carretto De Milesmo (1723-1800) by Martin van Meytens II. The result of EUR 15,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by Martin van Meytens II have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2015 the work "King Fredrik I" (1676-1751) was auctioned for SEK 250,000.00 (€ 27,008.25).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Paintings Drawings Sculptures 1300-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Joannes Josephus Comes Carretto De Milesmo (1723-1800) von Martin van Meytens II zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 15.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Martin van Meytens II konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2015 die Arbeit "King Fredrik I" (1676-1751) für SEK 250.000,00 (€ 27.008,25) versteigert.
